Overhwhelmed Parents.jpg

I see you there. Utterly exhausted, worn down, anxious, overwhelmed, irritable or just plain irritable.

Are you surprised at how immensely hard your parenting journey has been?

Does it feel like other Mums do it so much easier than you?

Are you more anxious, flat or angry than you ever were?

Do you feel SO touched out/sensory overloaded by the end of the day (and partners don't even think about touching you at bed time)!

Struggling to manage the mental load and why your partner just doesn't seem to get it?

Resentful that your partner can take a day or moment to themselves, whenever they like?

Can't remember the last time you had some free, cup filling time to yourself, without feeling guilty?

Are you just SO worn down, that exhausted isn't even the right word to describe it?

If that's you, you are definitely not alone.

There are SO MANY other Mums just like you, struggling with the same things.

So, I'm here to help you with that..

Hi, I’m Sarah Purvey, a mother of two spirited girls, author of my first book (Keep Sane and Parent On) and a psychologist with 16 years experience. I know first hand the challenges of balancing motherhood, work, relationships and personal well-being.

In my role as a psychologist and the founder of Eastern Shore Psychology, I’ve supported countless mothers like you. I’ve seen the struggles you face and am passionate about helping you find practical solutions. My approach combines effective, evidence-based therapies to help you manage stress, be less consumed by your negative thoughts and painful feelings, develop more self compassion and build a stronger connection with yourself and your family.

There will always be bumps, obstacles and mountains to climb in our life. Life is no fairy tale, but we can learn to get better at embracing this and enjoy the joyful moments, even when life is challenging.

I guarantee you, I'm still an overwhelmed Mum too, sometimes! And, I have seen countless Mums in my psychology practice, experiencing the issues I've mentioned, just like you.

We’ve been sold a myth that motherhood is only about love, joy and an imperative we must do, to complete us, once we find a long term partner.

Motherhood IS about love, happiness and joy. But few people talk about the messiness, pain, guilt, resentment,  challenge and utter exhaustion and relentnessness that will bring you to your knees.

No one tells you that you will experience a depth of all of your emotions, that you never knew to be possible.

To love to your fullest extent, the way you love your children, is to be willing to feel into the depths of your soul.

I want to create a safe space for you to help cope with the harder bits and harness those joyful moments.

A safe space for Mums to support each other, with ZERO judgement, while being guided by a psychologist, with tried and true psychology strategies, that so many Mums use in my individual therapy sessions.

I want to show you a sanctuary, to ease the overwhelm of motherhood.

Parenthood is about finding a village and this is what I want to create for you.

You need a regular place to find solace and support from Mums who get it and access resources from a Mum psychologist, who does truly understand the difficulties of the parenting journey.

Cheerleaders on the regular, through the challenging moments.

A place to learn ways you can cope with your overwhelming feelings.
